Craftsman House Plans: A Style Renaissance
Craftsman house plans first gained widespread popularity in the late 19th century and remained a popular house plan style through the early 20th century. Recently the Craftsman house style has experienced a revival in demand, making it one the top-selling home styles in our collection.
Craftsman home plans are an offshoot of bungalow style homes and feature slightly Northwestern design influences. These homes can be one or two stories and offer an interior that promotes an informal lifestyle of entertaining and socializing. Craftsman home plans are also known for their charismatic and detailed exteriors which are born of the arts and crafts movement. Much like country home plans, it's not uncommon to see stone and wood elements throughout the interior and on the exterior of the home. Due to their sturdy construction, flexible floor plan and distinctive appearance, Craftsman houses are a popular choice in both country and suburban settings.
