Waterfront House Plans
About Waterfront House Plans & Waterfront Home Floor Plans...
Waterfront house plans are just that, homes designed for the water’s edge. They are typically suitable for the shorelines of inland bodies of water such as lakes, rivers and streams. Generally, waterfront home plans blend well with their surroundings while enjoying shoreline sounds like the tranquil noises of a babbling brook or a rushing river after a summer rain. Waterfront house plans often feature decks, balconies, outdoor living spaces and plenty of large windows overlooking an expansive view. They can be one or two levels and range in size from a small fishing cabin to a well-appointed home. Waterfront home plans are available in a multitude of styles and encourage enjoyment of natural surroundings. Beach and Coastal designs as well as A-Frame home plans and some Vacation houses are closely related to waterfront house plans.
Waterfront floor plans are shoreline homes, which include lakefront home plans, coastal homes and stilt house plans. They can be a secondary home or a permanent residence. Just like oceanfront houses, seaside designs and beach house plans, they are often built on pier foundations, sometimes known as pier floor plans, with the main living areas raised one level and a parking area underneath the home. With stilt homes, this type of foundation accommodates potential rising waters when rivers, creeks or lakes overflow their banks. Water flows underneath without any risks or damage to the home or the treasures inside. In other instances, waterfront designs may be built on a sloping lot with a daylight basement or walkout basement foundation. They might even feature an atrium and finished lower level with plenty windows to capture panoramic scenes of nature and the lake or river behind the home. Waterfront homes range in style from Traditional to Contemporary and are positioned on their lots to take advantage of the waterfront setting. Occasionally, waterfront homes work well as beach houses, seaside designs and oceanfront style homes, but are not necessarily designed to withstand the elements associated with oceanfront property and marine climates. Whether small and simple or grand and amenity-rich, Waterfront house plans are sure to inspire enjoyment of Mother Nature’s majesty.
