About A-Frame House Plans & A-Frame Home Floor Plans...A-frame house plans are easily recognized by the steep roof pitch. The sharply sloped roof resembles the letter "A". This shape was designed to help snow fall to the ground in colder climates, reducing the structural wear incurred by the house frame under the heavy weight of snow. A-Frame home plans typically incorporate vaulted ceilings and tall windows, capturing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Many A-Frame house plans create an upper level living space such as a loft. Sometimes called chalets, A-Frame home plans provide a cozy and inviting central living area and usually have gable ended roofs and large, uncovered, wrap-around decks. Various A-Frame house plans are designed to accommodate a wide range of lot sizes and landscapes. Contemporary floor plans, waterfront home plans and vacation house plans share some common traits with A-Frame home plans. |
