Plans: A-Frame House Plans

A-Frame house plans are most notably recognized for their steep roof pitch designed to help snow fall to the ground in colder climates. The sharply sloped roof resembles an "A" shape and allows for vaulted ceilings and tall windows, capturing fantastic panoramic views of the landscape. Often, this type of roof design creates an upper level living space such as a loft. A-Frame home designs provide a cozy and inviting central living area and typically have gable ended roofs and large, uncovered, wrap-around decks, perfect of out door activities and soaking up nature. A-Frame home plans and some closely related chalet designs are well suited for all sorts of terrains making ideal mountain houses, hillside homes and sloping lot houses, as well as, waterfront home plans and coastal designs. These plans range in size and can be simple one bedroom cabin plans or larger three or four bedroom designs. While many families enjoy year-round living in this style home, others prefer to have this plan as a secondary or vacation residence. Sometimes designed with a rustic exterior, this home works well when built in a wooded area or along a lakeshore and can often be used as rental property in resort areas. A-Frame house plans are similar to Contemporary house plans, Waterfront house plans and Vacation house plans.
