Victorian House Plans
About Victorian House Plans & Victorian Home Floor Plans...
Victorian house plans are most notably recognized for the ornate detailing and other special elements incorporated into their exterior finish and trim. A covered, wraparound front porch, turned posts, towers, brackets under the eaves, turrets, detailed scrollwork, spindles, fanciful moldings and gingerbread decorating are just some of the special features and ornamental details that grace the exteriors of Victorian home plans. Many sport a brightly painted exterior as well. Victorian house plans are usually asymmetrical in shape and generally have an irregular roofline. Gables face several directions and roof pitches vary. Designed with one or two levels, Victorian home plans range in square footage. Country house plans and some Craftsman designs share similar characteristics with Victorian house plans.
Occasionally, farmhouses and some country designs incorporate some Victorian style elements into their exterior details and trim resulting in country Victorian designs. Victorian homes cover a broad range when the interior is considered. There is no limit to the number of bedrooms and bathrooms they hold, and they are available with various foundations. Victorian floor plans generally deliver comfortable room sizes and a relaxed atmosphere for easy living. In many cases, the main living areas such as the great room, kitchen and nook, may combine providing functionality and simple flow of daily activities. While Victorian designs are fashioned for casual living, many offer elegance as well. It is not uncommon to find formal rooms, such as the living and dining rooms, flanking the foyer, ideal for entertaining guests. Amenities can range from just the basics to many of today’s most requested features. From practical farmhouse plans to elegant country styled estates, Victorian homes deliver a winning combination of practicality and grace.
