Sunbelt House Plans
About Sunbelt House Plans & Sunbelt Home Floor Plans...
Fashioned for regions with warmer climates, Sunbelt house plans are commonly found in California, New Mexico, Arizona and Florida, but they can be built almost anywhere. Suited for North America’s Sunbelt region, the most recognizable characteristic of Sunbelt home plans is their trademark stucco exterior walls. The walls are typically made of wood or concrete block and finished with a stucco façade of white or another pastel color. In addition, Sunbelt house plans often sport a red clay tile roof offering a striking contrast to the light colored exterior walls. This type of roof holds up extremely well under tremendous heat. Sunbelt home plans usually have an asymmetrical and open, airy floor plan, perfect for entertaining. Sunbelt house plans can be one or two levels, and they are closely related to Mediterranean home plans and European designs.
Influenced by European architectural elements, the many variations of Sunbelt designs include everything from Spanish style home plans and stucco house plans to Mediterranean home designs and Tuscan style houses. Ranging in size and style, these homes can be anything from a simple Ranch with two bedrooms and one bath to a grand Two-Story home with five bedrooms and baths. Sunbelt style homes are practically designed with low-pitched roofs and exaggerated overhangs to provide much needed shade around the perimeter. This helps keep the interior cool. Fashioned for comfort, gathering and relaxation, these European influenced homes feature multiple design elements and plenty of sophisticated detailing resulting in and elegant look and feel. Strategically placed archways, covered lanais and verandas, large windows and courtyards are some identifying characteristics of Sunbelt floor plans. All of these elements allow gentle breezes to flow around and through home offering a cool retreat. Inside, columns and pillars may be arranged to define the living areas while maintaining openness. Arched doorways and raised ceilings contribute to a comfortable and breezy atmosphere. Two-story versions of these stucco home plans are often enhanced with outdoor balconies and iron railings. Adobe, Florida, Mission, Pueblo, Southwest, and Spanish are all sub-styles of this splendid home plan style. Delivering a masterful blend of style, comfort and functionality, Sunbelt home designs have plenty to offer.
