Buying your home plan

If you need assistance buying a house plan, please contact us and we can help you. If you already know your plan ID, you can enter it in the plan ID box on the home page. You may search for the plan using your desired criteria right from the home page. The search results display plans that meet your criteria and you can select the picture of the home for which you wish to view more information. On the plan information page, select "BUY NOW" to the right of the rendering to purchase the plan. We offer the following house plan packages:

1-Set (Study Set): A one-set plan package considered a study set and marked "not for construction" allows you to review your home in detail before you begin construction. Reproduction of blueprints is a copyright violation. You have 90 days to upgrade to another package.

5-Set: To begin the construction process, you should buy at least a 5-set package to meet the minimum number of blueprints needed for construction. Some blueprints will be shared between contractors when only purchasing a 5-set package.

8-Set: Buying eight or more sets of blueprints offer you the best results for cost, quality of construction and schedule. You will keep one set and your local building department, general contractor, mortgage lender, and all subcontractors will use the others.

Reproducible Master: A reproducible master is drawn on erasable mylar or vellum paper which can be erased allowing for a designer or architect to make your desired changes. The reproducible master is necessary when you want to make minor changes to an existing plan and reproduce it, so you have sets for your contractor and subcontractors.

CAD file: A CAD file is a Computer-Aided Drafting electronic file of your home plan. A CAD file allows you to make substantial changes to your home plan. Your designer or architect can make your substantial changes to this file and print out the final version of the plan. We offer .DWG and .DXF file types.

Mirror Reverse: This plan is printed in reverse layout from the original drawings. These plans are helpful when your building site would better accommodate your home plan if all rooms were on the opposite side than what is shown on the original plan. These plans are a mirror image of the original drawing which causes all text to be backwards. Order a set of right-reading plan when buying mirror reverse plans to help you read the backwards text.

Right-Reading Reverse: This plan is also printed in reverse layout from the original drawings. These plans are helpful when your building site would better accommodate your home plan if all rooms were on the opposite side than what is shown on the original plan. With right-reading reverse plans, the plans are a mirror image of the original drawings and the text on the plans is printed correctly, not backwards.

Material List: This is a detailed list of materials needed to construct your home plan. Our material lists include the quantity, descriptions and dimensions of the major building materials needed to construct your house. Material lists help you get more accurate bids from contractors and save money by only paying for the materials you need for construction.

Foundation: Your options for foundations differ between plans. If your preferred foundation is not offered with the plan you select, check with your builder to see if the plan can be modified for your desired foundation.

Home plan search

Search for a home plan using the plan ID or specify your requirements for your desired home plan to find plans that meet your requirements. You do not need to select criteria for every option and the search results are not limited by any criteria not selected.
