Plan Description

Like a window to the past, this classic Scottish Highland castle is reminiscent of the fortresses built in history. Finished with stone, slate roofing, wrought iron detailing and heavy plank doors, the historical appearance of this unique two-story house plan hides a lavish interior loaded with up-to-date amenities and luxurious features. Entering through the traditional portcullis, visitors are welcomed by a large stone motor court with three-car garage to the left. Enter through the main door that opens to the foyer, or step through the double door entry opposite the garage. Choosing the foyer, you’ll quickly discover the elegant dining room warmed by a toasty fireplace. To the right, the living room is perfect for all types of gatherings, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or friends just drop by to visit. The central fireplace offers visual interest and warmth. To the left of the dining room, the chef’s kitchen showcases an expansive island, full brick pizza oven, and a walk-in pantry. All of the rooms along the back wall enjoy access to the Gothic arched porch complete with outdoor fireplace, ideal for entertaining and hosting summertime barbecues. A U-shaped stair off the kitchen leads to the second floor. But first, take a look at the gallery and the extensive two-story library outfitted with built-in shelves keeping things organized on the other side of the home. The stairwell area holds a half bath and works well as a guest entry and those stopping by to enjoy an evening for fun and entertainment as it connects with the main entertainment spaces. A billiards room is nearby and makes a great place for everyone to kick back and relax. Now take one of two staircases to the second floor. The entertainment spaces continue above with the Irish pub complete with fireplace and access to the overlook. There are plenty or peaceful spaces on the second floor including the second floor library and five bedrooms. Take a look at the sleeping areas. There are two master suites and three family bedrooms for the kids. Bedroom 1 is the first master suite. It offers a wood-burning fireplace, access to the outdoor overlook, an extensive walk-in closet and a lavish bath complete with jetted tub and separate shower. The second master suite is Bedroom 2.
